Short answer
On Amazon, AliExpress, Temu or anywhere else, the risk with an R36S comes from the seller and the batch, not the platform. The community wiki holds clone reports from sellers on Amazon, Temu, eBay and Alibaba, and good purchases from other stores on the same sites. Choose the seller first, then test the console on arrival.
Amazon, AliExpress, Temu, Best Buy: what is documented
Prices move every week, so we only quote figures a source published with a date. For the R36S itself, the Handhelds wiki gave 25 to 35 euros in May 2025, and Google's AI Overview said "typically $25 to $50" on October 3, 2026.
We found no dated R36S price per platform in our sources. The per-site prices in the table are for the R36 Ultra, a sibling model on the same RK3326 chip, as of April 2026 per retrohandhelds.gg. They show the spread between platforms, not today's R36S price.
Dated prices only. R36 Ultra prices per retrohandhelds.gg.
| Platform | Dated price we can cite | Sellers listed on the wiki as having shipped clones | Good purchases listed on the wiki |

| AliExpress | R36 Ultra: $35.69 (April 2026) | None tagged AliExpress; several listed stores have no platform named | Six recommended stores (list below) |
| Temu | None published with a date | Baijiai, Discount CC shop, LeYiXia, Staco Digital, YLW Global | YingShou, YUYIU |
| Best Buy | None found | None named | None named |
| Walmart | R36 Ultra: $64.99 (April 2026) | None named | None named |

| Alibaba (wholesale) | None published with a date | Shenzhen Smart Concept Electronics | None named |
We have not checked return windows or delivery times platform by platform: they change with each seller and listing. Read both on the listing before you pay, and look at whether import charges are added at checkout.
Platform by platform
Amazon
Search results mix many sellers under near-identical titles, and some listings call the console the "Anbernic R36S". It is not an Anbernic product: the wiki lists its brand simply as "Game Console". The listing title tells you little. The seller name tells you more.
Two Amazon sellers, BSTXY and D-MuXue, are listed on the wiki as having shipped clones. One, Xiaoyu USA branch, is listed as a successful purchase. Check the seller line on the listing, not only the product photos.
AliExpress
AliExpress is where the wiki points buyers first: it names six recommended stores there. It is also the cheapest platform in the dated figures we have, with the R36 Ultra at $35.69 in April 2026 against $59.99 on Amazon.
Good to know
The wiki states that some of its store links are affiliate links that help fund the project. That does not make the list wrong, but you should know it when you read it.
Temu
Temu has the most named sellers on the wiki's clone list: five. It also has two sellers listed as good purchases, YingShou and YUYIU. We found no dated Temu price for the R36S, so we quote none rather than guess.
Best Buy
Not verified
Best Buy pages appeared in Google's desktop results for "r36s" when we checked on October 2, 2026. We have not verified any listing: seller, price and return terms are unchecked, and the wiki names no Best Buy seller either way. If you find one, run the same checks as anywhere else.
Walmart and eBay
Walmart listed the R36 Ultra at $64.99 in April 2026, the highest of the three dated prices, and the wiki names no Walmart seller. On eBay, one seller, focus_on_mall, is listed on the wiki as having shipped clones.
How to read the wiki's seller lists
The lists come from the R36S Clones page of the Handhelds wiki, last edited in May 2025; the page says it has moved to handhelds.wiki. They record reports of "EmuELEC clones", variants first spotted in August 2024 that cannot run standard ArkOS or AmberELEC.
The six AliExpress stores the wiki recommends:
Recommended by the wiki
- 001 Ali Choice Store
- BOYHOM Store
- Factory Game Direct Store
- Retro Game Supermaket Store (spelled this way on the wiki)
- SUPER FUN GAME Store
- YYDZKJ Store
Successful purchases are also listed on Temu (YingShou, YUYIU), Amazon (Xiaoyu USA branch) and Shopee (Alphawolf Supply Co.). The clone list is longer than our table: it also names stores with no platform attached, such as 3C Moker Store and GAMINJA Global Store. Read the full list on the wiki before you order.
Both lists are dated and partial. A seller on the good list can still ship a different batch later, and a seller on the clone list may have changed supplier since. Use them to choose, then verify the unit you receive.
Five checks the day it arrives
These come from the wiki's clone section. Run them before you install anything, while the return window is open.
- RAM chips: on a transparent shell, look at the board. The R36S has two RAM chips; the documented clones have one.
- Boot with no microSD card in. If it starts anyway and shows "Can't find any systems", that is a clone sign.
- Boot with the card in and watch the start screen. The wiki notes that clones do not show the "ArkOS 2.0 (date)" message.
- Put the game card in a computer. A partition named EASYROMS is expected; EMUELEC or EEROMS points to a clone.
- Open RetroArch. If it reports 497 MB of memory, the wiki lists that as a clone sign.
Warning
Do not flash standard ArkOS to "fix" a suspected clone: on those boards, the result is a black screen and a blinking red LED. Our original vs clone guide covers each check, plus the D-pad and button lettering, and the firmware guide covers clone firmware.
Buying from us: what the $79.99 covers
Our R36S sells at $79.99 (64 GB card) or $89.99 (128 GB card). That sits above the $25 to $50 range quoted for the market, so here is what the difference pays for. Judge it line by line.
What the price covers
- The board: we order the line our supplier's catalogue calls "R36S Dual Chip Original", priced above the basic R36S in that same catalogue. The supplier also sent photos of V21 and V30 boards, shown in our clone guide. That is the supplier's statement, not an independent test.
- A 64 GB microSD card in the box, or 128 GB at $89.99.
- Free shipping. We hand your order to the carrier within 24 to 72 business hours; delivery then takes 5 to 10 business days, tracked by email.
- 30-day returns and a 30-day warranty. You pay return shipping, except when the console arrives defective, wrong or not as ordered: in that case a prepaid label comes from us.
- A company you can reach: R36S Console is operated by ANIMOUF LLC, Wyoming, at contact@r36s-console.com.
When we are not the right pick
If you want Wi-Fi, the R36S has none; the R36 Ultra does. And if you are still unsure about the console itself, read our R36S review before choosing a store.
FAQ
Is the R36S on Amazon real?
Some are, some are not, and the listing title won't tell you which. The Handhelds wiki lists two Amazon sellers, BSTXY and D-MuXue, as having shipped clones, and one, Xiaoyu USA branch, as a successful purchase. Buy from a seller with a track record, keep the box, and run the arrival checks while you can still return it.
Is it safe to buy an R36S on Temu?
It depends on the seller. The wiki lists five Temu sellers as having shipped clones: Baijiai, Discount CC shop, LeYiXia, Staco Digital and YLW Global. It also lists two successful purchases, from YingShou and YUYIU. Read the return terms on the listing before paying, then check the RAM chips and the start screen as soon as it arrives.
Does Best Buy sell the R36S?
We could not confirm it. Best Buy pages appeared in Google's desktop results for "r36s" when we checked on October 2, 2026, but we have not verified a listing, its seller, its price or its return terms. The community wiki names no Best Buy seller, good or bad. If you find one, apply the same checks as anywhere else.
Why is the R36S cheaper on AliExpress?
We cannot see other sellers' costs, so here is what is documented. The wiki put the R36S at 25 to 35 euros in May 2025. Our supplier's catalogue lists a basic R36S below the "Dual Chip Original" version, so a low price can mean a different board. Our $79.99 also includes a 64 GB card and 30-day returns.
Want to compare our offer with what you found elsewhere? The original R36S page lists both storage options and the full return terms.
